AbstractTwo types of coplanar transmission lines, rectangular microshield coplanar coupled lines (RMCCL) and coplanar coupled rectangular microshield lines (CCRML), are proposed for MMIC applications. These are developed from coplanar coupled lines (CCL) and coplanar coupled strip lines (CCS).

Asymmetric coupled transmission lines with anisotropic coupling
IEEE International Digest on Microwave Symposium, 2002The characteristics of asymmetric coupled transmission lines are derived for the case of general anisotropic coupling, special cases of which are certain geometries of anisotropic materials or from distributed active devices. In addition to deriving the terminal characteristics for the uniform coupled-line, four-port case with anisotropic coupling, it ...

Branch-Line Hybrid-Rings with Coupled-Lines
24th European Microwave Conference, 1994, 1994A branch-line hybrid-ring is composed of four quarter-wavelength transmission lines, and hence occupies a large area on printed circuitboards because of its loop structure. In this paper, a branch-line hybrid-ring which includes microwave C sections is proposed for size reduction.

Characteristics of Coupled Microstrip Transmission Lines-II: Evaluation of Coupled-Line Parameters
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1970This part of the paper presents the parameters of coupled microstrip lines which are required in the equations and results derived in Part I for determining the characteristics of coupled lines. Several geometries are considered and the inductive and capacitive coupling coefficients, the effective dielectric constant, and the characteristic impedance ...

A Capacitance-Coupled Bit Line Cell
IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1985A 38-µm2dynamic random-access memory (dRAM) cell with a capacitance-coupled bit line (CCB) approach is described. This cell enables a storage capacitor area 2-2.5 times larger than double polysilicon-type cells, or half the cell area with the same design rules.

The quarter wave meander-folded coupler is a compact device useful for frequencies up to a few gigahertz. The folding is shown to shorten the electric length of the coupler and a theory is presented for the calculation of this shortening effect. The theory shows that the even-mode circuit is shortened to a higher extent than the odd-mode circuit which ...

Coupled transmission lines revisited
IEEE Transactions on Education, 1988The author presents a very satisfying and disarmingly simple way of introducing students to the parallel line coupler, which derives its S matrix directly from a knowledge of its eigenvectors and eigenvalues. For a pair of symmetrical coupled lines, the eigenvectors can be found by inspection, and the eigenvalues determined easily by means of flow ...

Line coupling in anisotropic Raman branches
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1994Direct connection between collisional Raman cross sections and state-to-state rotational ones permits, within the sudden approximation, to evidence drastic decouplings from isotropic to anisotropic lines. These decouplings are consistent with the results obtained by using the strong collision model.

Bi-directional coupling between two coupled transmission lines
IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2003Coupled mode theory including backward coupling is employed to investigate the bi-directional coupling mechanism in two symmetrical coupled microstrip transmission lines. Analytical scattering parameter expressions for the case of matched terminations are presented. Reflections and near-end crosstalk is attributed to the combined effects of distributed

Field-To-Line Coupling Models Compared: Coupled Lines and Modified Taylor
2013Models for field-to-line coupling are interesting because they help to predict the immunity of PCBs and explain the relation between routing and immunity. In this article a meandered PCB trace illuminated by EM field in a TEM cell is analysed. The near-end and far-end coupling is predicted using two models: a detailed and an approximative one.
