Quantum theory of a vortex line in an optical lattice
We investigate the quantum theory of a vortex line in a stack of weakly-coupled two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensates, that is created by a one-dimensional optical lattice.

Design of Quad-Band Rat-Race Coupler for GSM/WiMAX/WLAN/Satellite Applications [PDF]
In this communication, a novel quad-band rat-race coupler (RRC) is developed for GSM/WiMAX/WLAN/Satellite applications. A conventional RRC is converted to exhibit quad-band operation by using a quad-band microstrip-line (QBML).

Vernier effect using in-line highly coupled multicore fibers
We demonstrate optical fiber sensors based on highly coupled multicore fibers operating with the optical Vernier effect. The sensors are constructed using a simple device incorporating single-mode fibers (SMFs) and a segment of a multicore fiber.

The dynamical origin of the universality classes of spatiotemporal intermittency
Studies of the phase diagram of the coupled sine circle map lattice have identified the presence of two distinct universality classes of spatiotemporal intermittency viz.

Wilson loops in CDT quantum gravity [PDF]
By explicit construction, we show that one can in a simple way introduce and measure gravitational holonomies and Wilson loops in lattice formulations of nonperturbative quantum gravity based on (Causal) Dynamical Triangulations.

ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...

High Performance Asymmetric Coupled Line Balun at Sub-THz Frequency
In this paper, we report a high-performance balun with characteristics suitable for future broadband sub-THz differential circuits. The idea of the balun is based on three asymmetric coupled lines, which enhance the odd mode capacitances to equalize the ...

Microwave Slow-Wave Structure and Phase-Compensation Technique for Microwave Power Divider [PDF]
In this paper, T-shaped electromagnetic bandgap is loaded on a coupled transmission line itself and its electric performance is studied. Results show that microwave slow-wave effect can be enhanced and therefore, size reduction of a transmission-line ...

Interacting electrons on a half line coupled to impurities
We generalize the bosonization methods for systems in the half line that we discussed elsewhere, to study the effects of interactions on electronic systems coupled to impurities.

ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.
