Simultaneous H2O:O2 Co‐Reactant Pulsing for Functional Property Control of Atomic Layer Deposited ZnO, TiO2, and Al2O3 Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Simultaneous H2O:O2 co‐pulsing in thermal ALD modulates surface hydroxylation to engineer nanovoids and properties in ZnO, TiO2, and Al2O3. The ligand‑dependent pathway promotes c‑axis‑textured ZnO, reduced‑crystallinity yet Ti4+‑preserved TiO2, and highly transparent, hydrophilic Al2O3, while lowering the refractive indices.

Aging transitions of multimodal oscillators in multilayer networks

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
When individual oscillators age and become inactive, the collective dynamics of coupled oscillators is often affected as well. Depending on the fraction of inactive oscillators or cascading failures that percolate from crucial information exchange points,

Advances in Halide Perovskites for Photon Radiation Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work highlights recent progress in perovskite‐based photon radiation detectors, covering organic–inorganic hybrid, inorganic, lead‐free double, and vacancy‐ordered halide perovskites. Their detection performance is compared, material‐specific advantages and challenges are examined, and provides insight into current limitations and future ...

3D Printed Multimaterial Microfluidic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We introduce a biocompatible, high resolution photopolymer resin that closely mimics the Young's Modulus (elasticity) and reversible stretchability (no hysteresis) of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), enabling the fabrication of microfluidic transistors (i.e., microvalves capable of proportional amplification) by multimaterial stereolithography (mSLA ...

Van der Pol Oscillators and Phase-Locked Loops: A Transparent Model for Central Pattern Generators in Bioinspired Robotics

open access: yesIEEE Access
Central pattern generators (CPGs) are biological neural circuits that allow vertebrates to control rhythmic and motor behavior by generating rhythmic output without rhythmic input.

Advanced Design for Weakly Coupled Resonators by Automatic Active Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An Automatic Active Optimization (AAO) strategy integrates machine learning predictors and genetic algorithms in a closed‐loop workflow. By iteratively expanding its dataset with new discoveries, AAO overcomes the limits of conventional methods. This approach finds superior microstructural designs beyond the initial sample space. We demonstrate this on

Quantum spin van der Pol oscillator: Spin-based limit-cycle oscillator exhibiting quantum synchronization

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
We introduce a quantum spin van der Pol (vdP) oscillator as a prototypical model of quantum spin-based limit-cycle oscillators, which coincides with the quantum optical vdP oscillator in the high-spin limit. The system is described as a noisy limit-cycle
