We study possible motivations for co-entreprenurial couples to start up a joint firm, using a sample of 1,069 Danish couples that established a joint enterprise between 2001 and 2010. We compare their pre-entry characteristics, firm performance and post-dissolution private and financial outcomes with a selected set of comparable firms and couples.

AbstractModal coupling oscillation models for the stellar radial pulsation and coupled-oscillators are reviewed. Coupled-oscillators with the second-order and third-order terms seemed to behave non-systematically. Using the equation by Schwarzschild and Savedoff (1949) with the dissipation term of van del Pol’s type which is third-order, we demonstrate

Waveguide coupling gratings for high-sensitivity biochemical sensors [PDF]
Grating coupling is now currently used in evanescent-wave biochemical sensors as a waveguide coupling element or as the sensing element. In most coupling cases of practical interest, the Rayleigh-Fourier method is valid, and leads to physically ...

Fixed-Point Fluid structure interaction analysis BASED ON geometrically exact approach
The fluid structure interaction analysis for structures exhibiting large deformations is carried out by using a strong coupling method, in which a fixed point method with Aitken’s dynamic relaxation is employed to accelerate convergence of the coupling ...

Improving reservoir permeability by electric pulse controllable shock wave
Controllable shock wave (CWS) parameters such as amplitude, operating area and number of operations are easy to control and have received extensive attention as a potential new technology for reservoir permeability enhancement.

The Hagedorn temperature of AdS5/CFT4 at finite coupling via the Quantum Spectral Curve [PDF]
Building on the recently established connection between the Hagedorn temperature and integrability [Phys.Rev.Lett. 120 (2018) no.7, 071605], we show how the Quantum Spectral Curve formalism can be used to calculate the Hagedorn temperature of AdS5/CFT4 ...

Time-Domain Aeroelasticity Analysis by a Tightly Coupled Fluid-Structure Interaction Methodology
A tightly coupled fluid-structure interaction (FSI) methodology is developed for aeroelasticity analysis in the time domain. The preconditioned Navier–Stokes equations for all Mach numbers are employed and the structural equations are tightly coupled ...

Coupled skinny baker's maps and the Kaplan-Yorke conjecture [PDF]
The Kaplan-Yorke conjecture states that for "typical" dynamical systems with a physical measure, the information dimension and the Lyapunov dimension coincide.

Erosion of synchronization: Coupling heterogeneity and network structure [PDF]
We study the dynamics of network-coupled phase oscillators in the presence of coupling frustration. It was recently demonstrated that in heterogeneous network topologies, the presence of coupling frustration causes perfect phase synchronization to become
