Coupling coefficient in strongly coupled dielectric waveguides

Radio Science, 1977
The coupling properties between two strongly coupled parallel dielectric slab waveguides are investigated using an analytical method based on waveguide theory. Coupling properties between two waveguides which have different geometrical configurations are given.

Coupling coefficients of coupled laser cavities

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1986
We discuss certain properties of the coupling coefficients for a specific model consisting of two coupled resonant cavities separated by a lossy coupling gap. The coupling coefficients are here defined in the framework of time-dependent coupled-cavity theory-not as end-fire power coupling between traveling waves of two adjacent waveguides.

The impact of laterally coupled grating microstructure on effective coupling coefficients

Nanotechnology, 2010
Lithographic fabrication may be used to define laterally coupled gratings of high refractive index contrast on waveguide ridges, eliminating the need for regrowth steps in such distributed feedback lasers. These may be made more amenable to fabrication by employing higher-order gratings.

Dynamic multi-coupling coefficients

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 2000
Summary: Exact eigen-energies and the corresponding wavefunctions of an interacting \(\text{sl}\)-boson system in a \(\text{U}(2l + 1)\leftrightarrow \text{O}(2l+2)\) transitional region are obtained by using the Bethe ansatz within an infinite-dimensional Lie algebra. A numerical algorithm for solving the Bethe ansatz equations is introduced.

Invariants of electromechanical coupling coefficients in piezoceramics

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 2003
The relationships between coefficients of electromechanical coupling (CEMC) of various types of piezoceramic resonator (PR) vibrations are considered. Being constant for a given piezoceramic state, the range of variation of piezoceramics dielectric permittivity from a mechanically "free" condition at relatively low frequencies up to an "overall clamped"

Determination of electrokinetic coupling coefficients

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2005, 2005
Electrokinetic coupling can convert an electromagnetic wave into a seismic wave or a seismic wave into an electromagnetic wave and is the basis of a new exploration method called Coupled Waves (Thompson and Gist (1993 and 1999), Hornbostel and Thompson (2002), Hornbostel, et al. (2003), and Ross et al. (2005)).

The Determination of Mode Coupling Coefficients

Optica Acta: International Journal of Optics, 1985
Analytical expressions for coupling coefficients for oblique incidence on a grating with an arbitrary groove profile on a planar waveguide with an arbitrary refractive index profile are obtained in the form of mode eigenfunctions values on the waveguide surface.

Corrugated Grating Coupled Devices and Coupling Coefficients

Integrated Optics, 1976
Marcuse has used local normal mode theory to calculate general expressions for the coupling coefficients (distributed leakage - DL and distributed feedback - DFB) for asymmetric slab waveguides with corrugated core boundaries.1 This approach and in general most approaches to this problem2,3,4 do not give one much feeling for the workings of the ...

Feedback reactivity coefficients and their coupling

Nuclear Engineering and Design, 2007
Abstract Coupled reactivity feedback coefficients which accounts for variation in fuel temperature and moderator void simultaneously, have been determined for swimming pool type research reactor namely Pakistan Research Reactor PARR-1. The state of art is core criticality calculations, employing lattice cell code WIMS-D/4 and application of Taylor ...
