A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Quantifying the pyroelectric and photovoltaic coupling series of ferroelectric films

open access: yesNature Communications
The coupling of photovoltaic and pyroelectric effects is a common phenomenon in ferroelectric films and often results in coupling enhancements. Although the coupling effects of a variety of ferroelectric films have been examined in terms of improved ...

Charactering Neural Spiking Activity Evoked by Acupuncture Through Coupling Generalized Linear Model

open access: yesEntropy
Acupuncturing the ST36 acupoint can evoke a responding activity in the spinal dorsal root ganglia and generate spikes. In order to identify the responding mechanism of different acupuncture manipulations, in this paper the spike history of neurons is ...

Mode-coupling branches in single-mode classical Rayleigh-Taylor instability for arbitrary Atwood numbers

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
In this research, the effect of the mode-coupling branches/channels on harmonic amplitudes in single-mode classical Rayleigh-Taylor instability for arbitrary Atwood numbers in the weakly nonlinear stage is investigated by employing the tracking ...

Electron impact excitation cross sections for allowed transitions in atoms

open access: yes, 1995
We present a semiempirical Gaunt factor for widely used Van Regemorter formula [Astrophys. J. 136, 906 (1962)] for the case of allowed transitions in atoms with the LS coupling scheme. Cross sections calculated using this Gaunt factor agree with measured

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

The Possible Role of Dentin as a Piezoelectric Signal Generator by Determining the Elec-tromechanical Coupling Factor of Dentin

open access: yesDental Hypotheses, 2011
Introduction: This article aimed at calculation of the electromechanical coupling factor of dentin which is an indicator of the effectiveness with which a piezoelectric material converts electrical en-ergy into mechanical energy, or vice versa.

Enhancing the Out-Coupling Efficiency of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes Using Two-Dimensional Periodic Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2012
The out-coupling efficiency of planar organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) is only about 20% due to factors, such as, the total internal reflection, surface plasmon coupling, and metal absorption.
