Electrochemical Evaluation of Compressed Selective Laser Melted AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg Alloys in Chloride Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

Variable Stiffness Flexure Structures Enabled by Phase‐Change Gallium and Adhesive Interfacial Locking for Soft Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A flexure‐based variable stiffness structure is developed by integrating phase‐change modulation and adhesive interfacial locking of gallium. The design enables a wide stiffness variability, transitioning from soft, flexible behavior to rigid, load‐supporting performance.

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Transport properties of baryon rich back-reacted thermal plasma with finite ’t Hooft coupling correction

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
In this work, holographic approach has been used to analyse the transport properties of baryon rich back-reacted thermal plasma with finite ’t Hooft coupling correction. The dual bulk geometry is charged AdS black hole with higher derivative Gauss–Bonnet

Compact Dual-Mode Adiabatic 3-dB Coupler for the 2-µm Waveband on Silicon Using Fast Quasi-Adiabatic Dynamics

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
We propose a 2 × 2 dual-mode adiabatic 3-dB coupler for the 2-μm waveband on silicon. The proposed coupler is designed based on fast quasi-adiabatic dynamics. The optimized taper shape is effective to reduce the device length. The length of

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

R2 corrections on screening length

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We study finite-coupling corrections on the screening length of a heavy quark-antiquark (QQ¯) pair moving in strongly coupled Super Yang-Mills plasma. We performed the analysis by computing the Wilson loop in a general AdS5 space with curvature-squared ...

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...
