Covalent bonds in positron dihalides

open access: yesChemical Science, 2020
We report a computational study on homo- and heteronuclear e+[X−Y−] compounds formed by two halide anions (X−, Y−= F−, Cl−, Br−) and one positron.

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Design and Synthesis of Novel Helix Mimetics Based on the Covalent H-Bond Replacement and Amide Surrogate

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
A novel hydrogen bond surrogate-based (HBS) α-helix mimetic was designed by the combination of covalent H-bond replacement and the use of an ether linkage to substitute an amide bond within a short peptide sequence. The new helix template could be placed

Energy Threshold for D+H_2→DH+H Reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
We have been able to measure the threshold energy Eo for the reaction D+H_2→DH+H. The value obtained was (0.33±0.02) eV. Apparently, this is the first direct determination of a threshold energy for a reaction involving the ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

The Additivity of the Energies of Normal Covalent Bonds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1932
The chemical bond between two identical atoms, as in the molecules H2, Cl2, etc., may be considered as an example of a normal covalent bond, involving an electron pair shared by the two atoms.

Polarization induced water molecule dissociation below the first-order electronic-phase transition temperature

open access: yes, 2011
Hydrogen produced from the photocatalytic splitting of water is one of the reliable alternatives to replace the polluting fossil and the radioactive nuclear fuels.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.
