Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Accuracy evaluation of GPS observation results processed by discreet Kalman filter
Results processing and accuracy evaluation of GPS and other systems operating in real time by discreet Kalman filter are analysed. Recurrent principle was used for processing observation data accumulating in portions by least squares adjustment.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Summing Modulo 2 of Stationary Binary Stochastic Processes
In the paper, we analyze the properties of the stochastic process obtained as the result of summing modulo 2 without carry of a finite number of stationary binary stochastic processes, some of which do not satisfy the independence condition.

We present a fully automated Bayesian optimization (BO) protocol for the parameterization of nonbonded interactions in coarse‐grain CG force fields (BACH). Using experimental thermophysical data, we apply the protocol to a broad range of liquids, spanning linear, branched, and unsaturated hydrocarbons, esters, triglycerides, and water.

The Structural Extension Spine: Modelling the emergence of algebraic reasoning in early mathematics
Background: The transition from arithmetic to algebra remains a persistent challenge in early mathematics education. While structural awareness is widely recognised as foundational to this shift, the developmental mechanism through which learners come to

A large number of MoS2 flakes were screened to obtain high‐quality flakes based on optical intensities in R, G, and B channel images. The flakes were classified from Level 1 to 6 based on optical intensities in the R, G, and B channel images. Low‐quality flake exhibited wrinkled, folded, or overlapped features, while high‐quality displayed a neat ...

Positive Definite $\ell_1$ Penalized Estimation of Large Covariance Matrices [PDF]
The thresholding covariance estimator has nice asymptotic properties for estimating sparse large covariance matrices, but it often has negative eigenvalues when used in real data analysis.
