Edge‐Connectivity Between Edge‐Ends of Infinite Graphs
ABSTRACT In infinite graph theory, the notion of ends, first introduced by Freudenthal and Jung for locally finite graphs, plays an important role when generalizing statements from finite graphs to infinite ones. Nash‐Williams' Tree‐Packing Theorem and MacLane's Planarity Criteria are examples of results that allow a topological approach, in which ends

Covers of Elliptic Curves with Unique, Totally Ramified Branch Points [PDF]
A well-known and difficult problem in computational number theory and algebraic geometry is to write down equations for branched covers of algebraic curves with specified monodromy type. In this article, we present a technique for computing such covers in the case of totally ramified covers of elliptic curves branched at one point.

Diagnostic safety and quality optimization in sepsis study protocol
Abstract Background Sepsis ranks among the “Big Three" conditions most prone to harmful diagnostic errors. Despite its high prevalence and severity, health systems lack effective and contextually tailored strategies to optimize diagnostic accuracy for sepsis.

Survive the economic downturn: Operating flexibility, productivity, and stock crash
Abstract Operating flexibility supports a firm's resilience strategy during challenging times by enabling them to promptly cut down operating costs associated with unproductive resources. We employ a real options model to formalize this insight. Our empirically grounding analytics motivate a firm‐level proxy for downscale operating flexibility (FLEX ...

Controllability of discrete‐time signed multiagent networks
Abstract Most of the existing studies on controllability have only focused on networks with non‐negative weighted interactions/edges among agents. In fact, there are both positive and negative weighted interactions in a network, where positive/negative weight implies cooperative/antagonistic interaction.

A unified approach of catastrophic events [PDF]
Although there is an accumulated charge of theoretical, computational, and numerical work, like catastrophe theory, bifurcation theory, stochastic and deterministic chaos theory, there is an important feeling that these matters do not completely cover ...

Doubling coverings of algebraic hypersurfaces
A doubling covering $\U$ of a complex $n$-dimensional manifold $Y$ consists of analytic functions $ _j:B_1\to Y$, each function being analytically extendable, as a mapping to $Y$, to a four times larger concentric ball $B_4$. Main result of this paper is an upper bound on the minimal number $ ({\U})$ of charts in doubling coverings of a manifold $Y$,

Abstract Let h$h$ be a fixed non‐zero integer. For every t∈R+$t\in \mathbb {R}_+$ and every prime p$p$, consider the angles between rays from an observer located at the point (−tJp2,0)$(-tJ_p^2,0)$ on the real axis toward the set of all integral solutions (x,y)$(x,y)$ of the equation y−1−x−1≡hmodp$y^{-1}-x^{-1}\equiv h \left(\mathrm{ mod\;}p\right)$ in

Unit commitment with frequency‐arresting adequacy constraint: Modelling and pricing aspects
Abstract Frequency‐arresting (FA) adequacy has received an increasing attention in operation of power systems with intermittent, electronically connected wind and sfolar generation. Presence of high penetration of renewable energy leads to reduced amount of inertia in the power system and the need for more sustainable market design.
