LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

CONTROLLING THE PESTS WITH THE HELP OF PLANTS IN ORGANIC VINEYARDS

open access: yesAgricultura, 2019
The capability of plants of increasing the ecosystem resistance to pests and invasive species is a well-known ecosystem service. However, monocultures (including vineyards) do not exploit the potential of plant diversity. The aims of this research are to

Tillage Radish Planting Date Trial Dr. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Farmers are interested in growing tillage radishes as they may potentially offer many environmental and economic benefits. Tillage radishes are quick at scavenging excess nitrogen, provide good ground cover, and break down very quickly in the spring to ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Potentiality of Bambusa, Phyllostachys and Urochloa species to vegetate degraded areas

open access: yesPesquisa Florestal Brasileira
Bamboos and forage grasses (Poaceae) can be used as recovery plants in degraded tropical areas, because of their fast plant growth and dense root systems.

Investigating the Efficiency of Different Cover Crops on Weed Populations and Yield and Yield Components of Soybean (Glycine max L.) [PDF]

open access: yesبوم شناسی کشاورزی
IntroductionPlanting cover crops, along with effective management practices, offers a sustainable alternative to conventional weed control methods. Beyond weed suppression, cover crops contribute positively by increasing organic matter, improving soil ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Movement of Desert Grassland Whiptails, Aspidoscelis uniparens, in a Structured Landscape

open access: yesDiversity
Landscape structure can affect movement, which is influenced by foraging, thermoregulation, and predation risk. We evaluated search paths relative to landscape cover for a unisexual lizard (Aspidoscelis uniparens) whose movement is primarily motivated by

Woody plant cover estimation in drylands from Earth Observation based seasonal metrics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
peer reviewedFrom in situ measured woody cover we develop a phenology driven model to estimate the canopy cover of woody species in the Sahelian drylands at 1 km scale. The model estimates the total canopy cover of all woody phanerophytes and the concept
