Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.

On Inference about Tilt Parameter in Marshall-Olkin Family of Distributions

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2018
Marshall and Olkin [Biometrika199784641652] introduced a method for constructing a new distribution by adding a new parameter, called tilt parameter, to a parent distribution.

Distributed SIR-Aware Opportunistic Access Control for D2D Underlaid Cellular Networks

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we propose a distributed interference and channel-aware opportunistic access control technique for D2D underlaid cellular networks, in which each potential D2D link is active whenever its estimated signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) is ...

Beyond digital twins: the role of foundation models in enhancing the interpretability of multiomics modalities in precision medicine

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review highlights how foundation models enhance predictive healthcare by integrating advanced digital twin modeling with multiomics and biomedical data. This approach supports disease management, risk assessment, and personalized medicine, with the goal of optimizing health outcomes through adaptive, interpretable digital simulations, accessible ...

Prediction Limits for Poisson INAR(1) Process

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical and Fundamental Sciences, 2015
We discuss the problem of deriving an estimative prediction limit as well as a simulation-based improved prediction limit for a future realization from the stationary, first-order Poisson INAR(1) process.

Advantages and limitations of navigation‐based multicriteria optimization (MCO) in selectively sparing pharyngeal constrictor muscles in head and neck radiotherapy treatment planning

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Sparing pharyngeal constrictor muscles (PCMs) during radiotherapy improves patient‐reported swallowing function. This study aimed to explore the feasibility of integrating knowledge‐based planning (KBP) with multicriteria optimization (MCO) in Eclipse v18.0 to selectively spare PCM, quantify the required trade‐off in prophylactic ...

Computation of Coverage Probabilities in a Spherical Germ-Grain Model [PDF]

open access: yesMethodology and Computing in Applied Probability, 2019
We consider a spherical germ-grain model on $\mathbb {R}^{d}$ in which the centers of the spheres are driven by a possibly non-Poissonian point process. We show that various covering probabilities can be expressed using the cumulative distribution function ...

Producing high quality cranial SRS plans with 4Pi planning technique in a commercial clinical solution

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To generate high‐quality stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) plans for single cranial lesions using 4Pi planning technique and compare these to our clinical “status quo” plans. Methods Eighteen vestibular schwannoma (VS) patients previously planned with Varian Eclipse RapidArc and treated on a Varian TrueBeam using 6FFF MV photon beams ...

Indoor Wi-Fi coverage measurement without spatial coordinates

open access: yes物联网学报
In R16, 3GPP proposed that user devices could utilize the 4G/5G cellular networks to report the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of Wi-Fi signal based on the existing minimization of drive test (MDT) technology, making it possible to measure the

On Downlink NOMA in Heterogeneous Networks With Non-Uniform Small Cell Deployment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Compared to orthogonal multiple access (OMA), non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) can achieve higher spectral efficiency by exploiting the power domain multiplexing.
