Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Ontology‐Aligned Structuring and Reuse of Multimodal Materials Data and Workflows Toward Automatic Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Reproduction of stacking fault energy calculations from literature with a semi‐automated large language model‐assisted extraction procedure: extraction of simulation protocol, atomistic structures, computational parameters, and reported results, ontology alignment, knowledge graph construction and, finally, recomputation forvalidation.

Scalable Optimization of Ultra-Dense Heterogeneous Networks Using Stochastic Geometry and Deep Learning Techniques

open access: yesAI
Ultra-dense networks (UDNs) enable next-generation wireless systems by providing high capacity through aggressive base-station densification. However, dense deployments increase interference and energy consumption, making Quality-of-Service (QoS) aware ...

Microstructure Reconstruction in Battery Electrodes Using Machine Learning Based on Low‐Voltage Focused Ion Beam–Scanning Electron Microscopy Tomography Images

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Classical and Bayesian Estimation of Stress–Strength Reliability in the X-Lindley Distribution Under Progressive Censoring

open access: yesIEEE Access
This study investigates the estimation of the stress-strength reliability measure, $\varsigma = P(X \lt Y)$ , assuming that both stress ( $X$ ) and strength ( $Y$ ) follow the new X-Lindley distribution.

RIS-Assisted Terahertz Clustered HetNets: Coverage and Rate Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
Terahertz (THz) transmission technologies hold significant potential for enabling ultra-broadband in next-generation networks. Despite the vast bandwidth offered by the THz, it faces significant challenges stemming from its limited transmission range.

A coverage probability of bootstrap-t confidence interval for the variance

open access: yesFilomat, 2017
We examine one-sided confidence intervals for the population variance, based on the ordinary t-statistics. We derive an unconditional coverage probability of the bootstrap-t interval for unknown variance. For that purpose, we find an Edgeworth expansion of the distribution of t-statistic to an order n-2.
