On multiple fault coverage and aliasing probability measures
International Test Conference 1988 Proceeding@m_New Frontiers in Testing, 2003A comparative study is presented of different methods of calculating multiple fault coverage and aliasing probability measures. The objectives are to describe the ways that these ratios are defined to give them a physical interpretation, and to separate the discussion of how to define the measure from how the measure might be actually obtained or ...

Sensor Placement for Grid Coverage with Probability Mode
2010 International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Software Engineering, 2010Under the condition that the coverage of each discrete grid point is Κ and the precision is Τ, this paper presents a new covering algorithm based on the probability model, the simulation of which can be performed with MATALB. Simulation results show that the least sensors are needed in this new algorithm compared with the mean algorithm and the ...

Probability, belief and success rate: comments on ‘On the meaning of coverage probabilities’
Metrologia, 2010The method of uncertainty evaluation discussed in Supplement 1 to the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement generates a coverage interval in which the measurand is said to have a certain probability (the coverage probability) of lying. This communication contains a response to the recent claim that 'when a coverage interval summarizes ...

Characterizing the mobile coverage probability in different geometries
IEEE Latin America Transactions, 2019This work characterizes the radio frequency (RF) power distribution within a given area via its mean and variance in three particular geometries. Through our statistical approach we have developed computationally simple equations that can be used to compute the mean value and variance of the RF power received in a circular area and in some other ...

Analysis of Coverage Probability for Cooperative Heterogeneous Network
2013 IEEE 78th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2013Heterogeneous network (HetNet) has been studied as a promising technology to boost the system throughput. A new upper boundary of coverage probability (CP) is derived, which is the one of cooperative communication between two base stations (BSs) for downlink HetNet.

Estimation of the coverage probabilities by 3-stage sampling
Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium 1995 Proceedings, 2002Development of fault-tolerant computing systems requires accurate reliability assessment techniques. Usually, the reliability measures are functions of component failure rates and fault coverage probabilities. Coverage provides information about the fault and error detection, isolation and system recovery capabilities.

Probability-of-Coverage Tolerance Intervals for the Beta Binomial
Psychometrika, 1986True score tolerance intervals, which are designed to cover a chosen proportion of the conditional distribution of true scores given an observed score, are suggested as alternatives to true score confidence intervals. Using large sample theory, a tolerance interval estimator for the beta binomial is derived.
