Coverage probability in wireless networks with determinantal scheduling
We propose a new class of algorithms for randomly scheduling network transmissions. The idea is to use (discrete) determinantal point processes (subsets) to randomly assign medium access to various {\em repulsive} subsets of potential transmitters.

A Tractable Closed-Form Expression of the Coverage Probability in Poisson Cellular Networks
The coverage probability of cellular networks is usually defined as the probability that the signal-to-interference+noise-ratio (SINR) is greater than a reliability threshold.

Standardization of sequencing coverage depth in NGS: Recommendation for detection of clonal and subclonal mutations in cancer diagnostics [PDF]
The insufficient standardization of diagnostic next-generation sequencing (NGS) still limits its implementation in clinical practice, with the correct detection of mutations at low variant allele frequencies (VAF) facing particular challenges. We address

Generalized Confidence Intervals for Zero-Inflated Pareto Distribution
This paper considers interval estimations for the mean of Pareto distribution with excess zeros. Three approaches for interval estimation are proposed based on fiducial generalized pivotal quantities (FGPQs), respectively.

Worst-case User Analysis in Poisson Voronoi Cells [PDF]
In this letter, we focus on the performance of a worst-case mobile user (MU) in the downlink cellular network. We derive the coverage probability and the spectral efficiency of the worst-case MU using stochastic geometry. Through analytical and numerical

Stationary and Mobile Target Detection using Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks
In this work, we study the target detection and tracking problem in mobile sensor networks, where the performance metrics of interest are probability of detection and tracking coverage, when the target can be stationary or mobile and its duration is ...

This study examines the demographic dynamics of two seabird populations on Tromelin Island, 15 years after the eradication of brown rats. The results indicate that these populations are in good health and are expected to continue growing until breeding sites are saturated in about a century.

Network topology drives population temporal variability in experimental habitat networks
Habitat patches connected by dispersal pathways form habitat networks. We explored how network topology affects population outcomes in laboratory experiments using a model species (Daphnia carinata). Central habitat nodes in complex lattice networks exhibited lower temporal variability in population sizes, suggesting they support more stable ...
