On the minimum coverage probability of model averaged tail area confidence intervals [PDF]
Frequentist model averaging has been proposed as a method for incorporating “model uncertainty” into confidence interval construction. Such proposals have been of particular interest in the environmental and ecological statistics communities. A promising

Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a genetic disease affecting motor neurons. Individuals with SMA experience mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of an antioxidant and neuroprotective substance, ergothioneine (ERGO), on an SMNΔ7 mouse model of SMA.

Mobility and Location-Aware Stable Clustering Scheme for UAV Networks
In Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) networks, mobility of the UAV and the corresponding network dynamics cause frequent network adaptation. One key challenge caused by this in Flying Ad-hoc Network (FANET) is how to maintain the link stability such that ...

There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

On Inference about Tilt Parameter in Marshall-Olkin Family of Distributions
Marshall and Olkin [Biometrika199784641652] introduced a method for constructing a new distribution by adding a new parameter, called tilt parameter, to a parent distribution.

This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

Bounds on the coverage probability of heterogeneous cellular networks [PDF]
In a heterogeneous cellular network (HCN), multiple tiers are employed to improve the network coverage probability. For this purpose, different properties of the coverage probability of an HCN should be studied carefully. This paper is classified into two main parts. First, a tight upper bound for the coverage probability of an HCN is derived.

Landscape of BRAF transcript variants in human cancer
We investigate the annotation of BRAF variants, focusing on protein‐coding BRAF‐220 (formerly BRAF‐reference) and BRAF‐204 (BRAF‐X1). The IsoWorm pipeline allows us to quantify these variants in human cancer, starting from RNA‐sequencing data. BRAF‐204 is more abundant than BRAF‐220 and impacts patient survival.

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.
