Coxeter Groups act on CAT(0) cube complexes

Journal of Group Theory, 2003
The authors prove that finitely generated Coxeter groups act properly discontinuously on a locally finite, finite-dimensional CAT\((0)\) cube complex. Part of the motivation for this result was an attempt to show that Coxeter groups are biautomatic. In order to conclude this using a result of the authors' [Geom. Topol.

Coxeter Groups and the Davis Complex

2017
We take a constructive and active look at group theory, by focusing on the action of finitely presented groups on CW-complexes. In particular, we focus on the action of Coxeter groups on the so-called Davis complex. Students are invited to participate in several constructions and investigate the group theoretic and geometric properties of the Davis ...

Real borderings of complex algebraic curves and Coxeter groups

Russian Mathematical Surveys, 1996
Let \(P\) be a complex algebraic curve, that is, a compact Riemann surface of genus \(g(P)\). An antiholomorphic involution \(\tau:P\to P\) is said to be a real form for \(P\). A real form \(\tau\) is said to be orientable if \(P/\langle \tau\rangle\) is an orientable surface. In this case the real points \(P^\tau\) divide \(P\) into two surfaces. By a
