Property (T) for groups acting on affine buildings

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 10, Page 3151-3162, October 2025.
Abstract We prove that a group acting geometrically on a thick affine building has property (T). A more general criterion for property (T) is given for groups acting on partite complexes.

A Clifford Algebraic Framework for Coxeter Group Theoretic Computations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Real physical systems with reflective and rotational symmetries such as viruses, fullerenes and quasicrystals have recently been modeled successfully in terms of three-dimensional (affine) Coxeter groups.

A note on element centralizers in finite Coxeter groups

open access: yes, 2011
The normalizer NW (WJ ) of a standard parabolic subgroup WJ of a finite Coxeter group W splits over the parabolic subgroup with complement NJ consisting of certain minimal length ...

Higher Signs for Coxeter Groups

open access: yes, 2021
We define and study cocycles on a Coxeter group in each degree generalizing the sign function. When the Coxeter group is a Weyl group, we explain how the degree three cocycle arises naturally from geometric representation ...

Conjugacy of Coxeter elements

open access: yes, 2009
For a Coxeter group (W, S), a permutation of the set S is called a Coxeter word and the group element represented by the product is called a Coxeter element. Moving the first letter to the end of the word is called a rotation and two Coxeter elements are

Reflections and quotients in Coxeter groups

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique
We present a formula relating the set of left descents of an element of a Coxeter group with the sets of left descents of its projections on maximal quotients indexed by simple right descents.

A Diagrammatic Temperley-Lieb Categorification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2010
The monoidal category of Soergel bimodules categorifies the Hecke algebra of a finite Weyl group. In the case of the symmetric group, morphisms in this category can be drawn as graphs in the plane.

Tits alternatives for graph products

open access: yes, 2015
We discuss various types of Tits Alternative for subgroups of graph products of groups, and prove that, under some natural conditions, a graph product of groups satisfies a given form of Tits Alternative if and only if each vertex group satisfies this ...
