New Ambiguity in Probing CP Violation in Neutrino Oscillations. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2016
If neutrinos get mass via the seesaw mechanism the mixing matrix describing neutrino oscillations can be effectively nonunitary. We show that in this case the neutrino appearance probabilities involve a new CP phase ϕ associated with nonunitarity.

Making Cross Polarization Magic Angle Spinning Quantitative: A Solid‐State NMR/Multivariate Curve Resolution‐Alternating Least Squares Approach for Quantifying Crystalline and Amorphous Phases

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
A broadly applicable and robust solid‐state NMR approach, combined with multivariate curve resolution‐alternating least squares, is presented to overcome the limitations of traditional methods. By leveraging advanced spectral deconvolution, it ensures accurate quantification of crystalline and amorphous active pharmaceutical ingredients phases, even ...

Mixing and CP violation in the beauty and charm sectors at LHCb

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
The LHCb detector is a dedicated heavy flavour experiment operating at the Large Hadron Collider designed to pursue an extensive study of CP violation in the beauty and charm sectors.

Minimal scoto-seesaw mechanism with spontaneous CP violation

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We propose simple scoto-seesaw models to account for dark matter and neutrino masses with spontaneous CP violation. This is achieved with a single horizontal Z 8 $$ {\mathcal{Z}}_8 $$ discrete symmetry, broken to a residual Z 2 $$ {\mathcal{Z}}_2 ...

CP Violation Beyond the Standard Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We review CP violation in various extensions of the electroweak sector of the Standard Model. A particular emphasis is put on supersymmetric models. We describe the two CP problems of supersymmetry, concerning $d_N$ and $\epsilon_K$. We critically review

Review on CP violation

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 1994
A phenomenological description of the neutral K and B meson systems is presented. The situation of the current CP violation experiments is described and a detailed discussion of their results is given, followed by some future prospects.

Unraveling the role of environmental and anthropogenic drivers in shaping global patterns in mammal diversity

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Patterns in functional and phylogenetic diversity reflect ecological and evolutionary relationships among taxa, and thus can offer key insights into the mechanisms underlying species distributions. However, disentangling the relative influence of proximate environmental drivers versus biogeographic evolutionary history can be a challenge.

CP VIOLATION IN KAON DECAYS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 1998
We review the Standard Model predictions of CP violation in kaon decays. We present an elementary introduction to Chiral Perturbation Theory, four-quark effective Hamiltonians and the relation among them. Particular attention is devoted to K→3π, K→ 2πγ and [Formula: see text] decays.
