Chiral Cycloparaarylenes Incorporating Binaphthyl Units: Dramatic Effects of Peripheral Functionalization on (Chir)Optical Properties

Chiral cycloparaarylenes (CPAs) incorporating binaphthyl units were synthesized. The methoxy‐substituted and methylenedioxy‐bridged systems adopt D3‐ and C3/C1‐symmetric structures, respectively. They exhibited distinct solid‐state emission and aggregation‐induced emission enhancement (AIEE).
