Insights Into the Mechanistic Assessment of Plasmon‐Induced Aqueous Degradation of Pharmaceuticals by TiO2/Ag Nano‐Composite

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pharmaceutical contaminants in potable water sources are ubiquitous and have resulted in lowered water quality. Thus, two common broad‐spectrum pharmaceuticals (tetracycline‐TC and ciprofloxacin‐CPF) were comparatively photo‐degraded using Ag‐doped TiO2 photocatalyst species containing Ag nanoparticles at 2.5, 5, and 7.5 wt%.

Prenatal chlorpyrifos leads to autism-like deficits in C57Bl6/J mice

open access: yesEnvironmental Health, 2017
Background Children are at daily risk for exposure to organophosphate insecticides, of which the most common is chlorpyrifos (CPF). Exposure of pregnant women to CPF was linked to decreased birth weight, abnormal reflexes, reduction in IQ, as well as ...

Chlorpyrifos Toxicity in Mouse Cultured Cerebellar Granule Neurons at Different Stages of Development: Additive Effect on Glutamate-Induced Excitotoxicity

open access: yesCell Journal, 2016
Objective: Chlorpyrifos (CPF) is a neurotoxic organophosphorus (OP) insecticide. Its mechanism of action includes oxidative stress, excitotoxicity, and inhibition of the acetylcholinesterase enzyme (AChE). The aim of the present study is to investigate

Evaluation of Ensemble‐Based Extreme Forecast Diagnostics for Zonda Wind Prediction

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Zonda is a downslope windstorm on the eastern slopes of the Andes in western Argentina. This Foehn‐like phenomenon can produce hazardous, strong, and gusty downslope winds, leading to extreme and rapid warming with severe societal impacts. Despite substantial advances in numerical weather prediction, forecasting Zonda winds remains challenging.
