Phytochemistry and Bioactivities of Thymol and Carvacrol: Molecular Pathways, Metabolism, and Therapeutic Insights

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
Thymus serpyllum (wild thyme) contains bioactive compounds such as carvacrol, thymol, β‐caryophyllene, γ‐terpinene, and α‐thujene, along with essential vitamins and minerals. These constituents exhibit antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti‐inflammatory, and antidiabetic activities.

ChitoSilkBioPatch: A bio‐inspired wound dressing scaffold for antibiotic‐free diabetic wound management

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 2, April 2026.
We present ChitoSilkBioPatch, a maleimide‐functionalized chitosan/dACM hydrogel integrated with a stretchable nanopatterned silk mesh to provide intrinsic, antibiotic‐free antibacterial activity and bioactive wound support. The scaffold eliminates S. aureus and P.

Rib‐Origin Ewing Sarcoma With Cranial Nerve Involvement From Orbital Metastasis: A Rare Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Ewing sarcoma (ES) is an aggressive tumor of the bone in young adults, commonly originating from the pelvis and long bones. It is characterized by chromosomal translocation t(11;22) (q24;q12), resulting in the EWSR1‐FLI1 fusion gene. It presents with metastasis commonly to the lungs and other soft tissues.

Proposed mechanism of butein effect in MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 TNBC cells.

open access: yes, 2019
The diagram shows butein inhibitory effect in TNF-α-stimulated CCL2 expression at mRNA and protein level, attenuating IKBKE expression as a possible molecular mechanism in Caucasian cells; in addition to a possible signaling pathway for butein apoptotic ...

Biomarkers for the estimation of isoproterenol‐induced myocardial infarction: A review of key parameters

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Medicine, Volume 3, Issue 1, Page 47-68, March 2026.
Abstract The isoproterenol‐induced myocardial infarction model is a well‐established experimental approach for studying cardiac injury and testing potential protective treatments. By overstimulating beta‐adrenergic receptors, this model closely reproduces key features of human heart attacks, including oxidative damage, calcium imbalance, inflammatory ...

Serum potassium levels, CPK-MB and ECG in children suffering asthma treated witbeclomethasone or beclomethasone-salmeterol

open access: yesAllergologia et Immunopathologia, 2001
Asthma morbidity and mortality has increased. One of the possible causes is the excessive use of beta agonists. The aim of this study is to compare the effects of six week treatment with beclomethasone alone (Ibec) or the combination of beclomethasone-salmeterol (Ibe + Isal) on serum potassium (K), CPK-MB and ECG in children suffering asthma.

Two‐Dimensional Frameworks From Metal Oxo Clusters at Liquid Interfaces

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
A two‐dimensional analog of the hexagonally close‐packed UiO‐66 metal–organic framework is assembled as a Langmuir monolayer at liquid interfaces using preformed metal oxo clusters and tailor‐made organic linkers. Coordination‐driven self‐assembly governs film formation, while linker amphiphilicity confines growth to two dimensions.

Evaluation of myocardial damage during coronary artery grafting with serial determinations of serum CPK MB isoenzyme

open access: yesThe Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 1978
Serial determinations of creatine phosphokinase isoenzymes (CPK) were made during the operative period and the first postoperative week in 60 patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery. Electrocardiograms (ECG) and serum levels of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT) and lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) were also evaluated.

Clinical profiles associated with rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease in antisynthetase syndrome: A multicentric cohort study (TYPASS study)

open access: yesJournal of Internal Medicine, Volume 299, Issue 3, Page 365-380, March 2026.
Abstract Objectives To assess factors associated with rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease (ILD) (RP‐ILD) at time of ILD diagnosis in a multicentric retrospective cohort study of antisynthetase syndrome (ASyS). We used a complementary unsupervised approach, hierarchical clustering, to delineate distinct phenotypes among ASyS patients with ILD.
