3′UTR variants of ALS‐linked RNAs modify subcellular and cellular phenotypes

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Our study demonstrates that alternative 3′UTR variants of ALS‐linked transcripts modulate subcellular RNA localization and cytoskeletal architecture. NEFH 3′UTR‐Long promotes nuclear RNA clustering, while SOD1 3′UTR‐Long reduces filopodia formation. These results suggest that 3′UTRs, independent of coding sequences, can influence neuronal phenotypes ...

Facilitated Transport of Organic Contaminants in a High Concentration, Multicomponent Plume

open access: yesGroundwater Monitoring &Remediation, EarlyView.
Abstract A field experiment evaluated the transport of organic contaminants in a plume from hazardous waste disposal areas at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. The plume contained many xenobiotic contaminants, with widely varying expected mobilities.

Three years of remote electrical neuromodulation (REN) acute treatment for migraine shows consistent effectiveness and no tachyphylaxis phenomenon

open access: yesHeadache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective The current study aimed to evaluate the remote electrical neuromodulation (REN) wearable device over 3 years, assessing the potential for tachyphylaxis, consistent effectiveness, overall utilization patterns, and safety. Background Migraine is a highly prevalent chronic neurological disease, especially during peak years of ...

The Dual Immunoregulatory Role of CREB3L1 Underlying Latent and Severe Tuberculosis Clinical Manifestation

open access: yesImmunology, EarlyView.
RNA‐seq of lungs and livers from Mycobacterium tuberculosis‐infected mice with distinct disease outcomes revealed organ‐specific responses driven by differences in immune activity and bacterial burden. Meta‐analysis identified orthologous genes shared with human latent TB and mouse liver, with Creb3l1, Myo7b, Cyyr1 and Cbs differentially expressed and ...
