Although known globally for its biodiversity, only around 5% of the Brazilian Pantanal is protected. The Network for Protection and Conservation of Amolar Mountain Ridge is an informal initiative that legally protects over 2000 km2 of the Pantanal biome.

Ageing acts as a double‐edged sword in cancer. In the elderly, open chromatin, immunosenescence, and chronic inflammation drive SASP (IL‐6, MMPs), MDSC accumulation and T‐cell suppression, fostering tumor‐promoting microenvironments and limited therapeutic benefit.

Magnesium Deficiency Accelerates Gut Aging and Increases Susceptibility to Colitis
Aging is associated with a gut‐specific decline in magnesium (Mg), which accelerates intestinal aging and aggravates colitis in aged mice. Mechanistically, Mg deficiency reshapes the phosphoproteome and N‐glycoproteome, destabilizing adhesion complexes.

Devouring the Invaders: The Racial‐Ecological Politics of the Chinese Crayfish Trade in Kenya
ABSTRACT This article examines entanglements of ecology, race, and foodways at Lake Naivasha in Kenya. Nonnative Louisiana red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii), first introduced to Kenya in the 1960s, were once viewed as invasive but are now sought after as a delicacy among Kenya's Chinese community.
