Very high energy observations of the BL Lac objects 3C 66A and OJ 287
Using the Solar Tower Atmospheric Cherenkov Effect Experiment (STACEE), we have observed the BL Lac objects 3C 66A and OJ 287. These are members of the class of low-frequency-peaked BL Lac objects (LBLs) and are two of the three LBLs predicted by ...

Investigating the Heat Stability and Inactivation Conditions of Decapod Iridescent Virus 1 (DIV1)
Heat treatment effectively inactivates decapod iridescent virus 1 (DIV1) under milder conditions than current WOAH recommendations. DIV1 infectivity was eliminated at 56°C for 30 min, 60°C for 15 min, or 70°C for 1 min, providing optimized heat treatment strategies for aquaculture biosecurity and seafood safety.

Recurrence of a marine brachyuran crab, Parapanope euagora (Crustacea: Decapoda: Brachyura: Galenidae) from East Coast of India [PDF]
Study on the occurrence and distribution of unusual crab species is a matter of fascination for carcinalogists. The present study reports the recurrence of a marine brachyuran crab species Parapanope euagora, of the family Galenidae, after a long period ...

Determination of the Night Sky Background around the Crab pulsar using its optical pulsation
The poor angular resolution of imaging gamma-ray telescopes is offset by the large reflector areas of next generation telescopes such as MAGIC (17~m diameter), which makes the study of optical emission associated with some gamma-ray sources feasible ...

Abstract The development of renewable energy sources is important in order to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Waste cooking oil (WCO) is a promising feedstock for biodiesel production through transesterification. Heterogeneous bifunctional catalysts offer a sustainable alternative to conventional homogeneous bases such ...

Simulated Gamma-Ray Pulse Profile of the Crab Pulsar with the Cherenkov Telescope Array [PDF]
We present simulations of the very high energy (VHE) gamma-ray light curve of the Crab pulsar as observed by the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA). The CTA pulse profile of the Crab pulsar is simulated with the specific goal of determining the accuracy of ...

ABSTRACT The ecology of forests, their losses, and terrestrial wood decomposition dynamics have been intensively studied and reviewed. In the aquatic realm, reviews have concentrated on large wood (LW) in rivers and the transition from freshwater to marine environments in the Pacific Northwest of North America. However, a comprehensive global synthesis
