Permeability and self-healing of cracked concrete as a function of temperature and crack width
Cement and Concrete Research, 2003Tests have been carried out on a high-strength concrete establishing permeability and self-healing behaviour of cracked concrete as a function of temperature between 20 and 80 °C and crack width between 0.05 and 0.20 mm. The results show a considerable increase of water transport with temperature.

Evaluation of tension-stiffening, crack spacing and crack width of geopolymer concretes
Construction and Building Materials, 2018Abstract This paper presents the results of an experimental study on the behavior of twenty geopolymer concrete prisms tested under uniaxial tension to investigate the tension-stiffening effect on the deformation and crack width of geopolymer concretes, prepared using either fly ash-based geopolymer concrete or granulated lead smelter slag (GLSS ...

Propagation and band width of smeared cracks
2015The crack band approach (in the smeared crack concept) is widely used for the modeling of concrete fracture and is an important analysis technique within advanced engineering. However, the simulations can be impeded by mesh-induced directional bias.

Resin Injection of Cracks with Changing Width
1986Cracks in concrete usually have to be closed either to make the structure water tight again or to protect the reinforcement against corrosion. As many cracks are not stable in their width, a repair is only successful, when the injected material can change its volume according to the volume-change of the crack.

DESIGN OF HYBRID-FIBER REINFORCEMENT FOR SHRINKAGE CRACKING BY CRACK WIDTH PREDICTION
2003ABSTRACT The use of fiber reinforcement to reduce shrinkage cracking is becoming increasingly common. The effectiveness of fiber reinforcement can be enhanced using multiple types of fibers. A means of predicting the shrinkage performance of hybrid-fiber reinforcement would facilitate its design.
