Crack widths close the reinforcement [PDF]

open access: yesIABSE Reports, 2007
<p>Currently used design methods predict that the crack widths at the concrete surface increase significantly with concrete cover. Requirements concerning limitation of crack widths therefore makes it difficult to use large concrete covers, which otherwise is desirable to reduce the corrosion of reinforcement.

Experimental investigation of crack width variation along the concrete cover depth in reinforced concrete specimens with ribbed bars and smooth bars

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2021
Crack width variation along the concrete cover depth has been studied from the past for better understanding of the cracking phenomenon in reinforced concrete (RC) structures.

Influence of corrosion on the bond performance of reinforcements and basalt fibre high strength concrete

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2022
In this study, the bond between corroded reinforcements and basalt fibre high strength concrete (BFHSC) was evaluated through eccentric pull-out tests on 33 corroded reinforcement–BFHSC bond specimens.

Non-steady state chloride migration and binding in cracked self-compacting concrete [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We adopted a notch method to study the influence of crack width (macro level) on chloride transport and binding of cracked concrete under a non-steady state migration test.

Cracking assessment in concrete structures by distributed optical fiber [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, a method to obtain crack initiation, location and width in concrete structures subjected to bending and instrumented with an optical backscattered reflectometer (OBR) system is proposed.

Relationship Between Crack Growth Resistance KR Curve and Specimen Width for 2060 - T8E30 Lithium Aluminum Alloy

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
KR crack growth resistance curve can be used to predict crack propagation behavior, estimate the crack component bearing capacity after the crack, so KR curve research occupies very important position in the fracture mechanics.

Probability-Based Crack Width Estimation Model for Flexural Members of Underground RC Box Culverts

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Crack control for slabs and beams in current design practices in Korea are based on the Frosch’s model, which is adapted in ACI 318. It is more difficult to have consistent quality control in underground construction sites, such as the RC box culverts ...

Factors effecting the recovery process of self-repairing concrete

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2019
In order to explore the influence of external environmental factors, the initial width of cracks and the placement of glass fiber tubes on the repairing effect of self-repairing concrete, glass fiber tubes are built in self-repairing concrete specimens ...
