Coumarins and Their Derivatives in Animal Models of Asthma: A Systematic Review

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 138, Issue 3, March 2026.
Mast cells drive early allergic asthma by releasing histamine, interleukins and prostaglandins, causing airway hyperresponsiveness, mucus overproduction and inflammation. These events sustain symptoms and promote structural remodelling, contributing to the progression of the disease.

Estimating Sunda Clouded Leopard Lifespans From Minimum Residence Times via Long‐Term Photo‐Tracking

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 2, March 2026.
How long do Sunda clouded leopards live in the wild? Detectability challenges and transient behavior make this elusive species difficult to track. Based on compiled photographic records, we report the oldest known individual to date: a 6.51‐year‐old female and provide new insights into survival and demography of this threatened carnivore.

Seroprevalence of equine leptospirosis in Poland (2019–2023)

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 58, Issue 2, Page 523-532, March 2026.
Abstract Background Leptospirosis in horses is associated with various clinical signs, potentially leading to fatal outcomes. Additionally, the disease may pose a zoonotic risk to individuals involved in handling infected animals. Implementing a serological monitoring programme in the equine population is one of the key tools used to reduce the risk of

Evolutionary divergence and functional insights into the heteromeric cis‐prenyltransferase of Paramecium tetraurelia

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 6, Page 1681-1707, March 2026.
Heteromeric cis‐prenyltransferases (CPT) are indispensable for dolichol synthesis and protein N‐glycosylation in most eukaryotes. The catalytic subunits are strongly conserved throughout evolution, in contrast to the evolutionarily variable accessory subunits. The POC1 protein from Paramecium tetraurelia is the smallest identified CPT‐accessory subunit

Navigating Neoliberal Pressures and Patriarchal Legacies: The Lasting Impact of Feudal–Patriarchal Work Relations in Polish Artistic Universities

open access: yesGender, Work &Organization, Volume 33, Issue 2, Page 379-398, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This article examines the persistence and transformation of patriarchal–feudal structures in Polish art universities in the context of post‐1989 higher education (HE) reforms. Drawing on 22 in‐depth interviews with socially engaged academic staff (18 women and four men) across 11 Polish artistic institutions, the study explores how ...
