Doppler stretch and delay Cramer-Rao lower bound for signal with large bandwidth

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений России: Радиоэлектроника, 2016
In this paper Cramer-Rao lower bound of joint Doppler stretch and delay estimation for wideband signal is derived. We use wideband term to denote cases in which narrowband signal model is inappropriate.

Escort density operators and generalized quantum information measures

open access: yes, 2004
Parametrized families of density operators are studied. A generalization of the lower bound of Cramer and Rao is formulated. It involves escort density operators. The notion of phi-exponential family is introduced.

Aerial Anchors Positioning for Reliable RSS-Based Outdoor Localization in Urban Environments

open access: yes, 2017
In this letter, the localization of terrestrial nodes when unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are used as base stations is investigated. Particularly, a novel localization scenario based on received signal strength (RSS) from terrestrial nodes is introduced.

Lactate Changes Quantified by fMRS: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 6, June 2026.
A systematic meta‐analysis of fMRS studies investigating brain lactate in healthy human subjects was conducted, with experiments categorized according to magnetic field strength, spectroscopic echo time, and task design. Across all included studies, lactate concentration was consistently reported to increase during functional stimulation, showing an ...

Data‐Driven Characterization of Knee Structures Using Non‐Negative Matrix Factorization of 3D Multi‐Echo UTE MRI

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 6, June 2026.
Non‐negative matrix factorization (NMF) can derive tissue features in a data‐driven manner without relying on biophysical model assumptions. First‐time application of NMF to 3D multi‐echo UTE knee MRI revealed four reproducible components associated with tissues of fast and slow transverse relaxation, water–fat mixture (chemical shift), and fat tissue.

Optimal sensing on an asymmetric exceptional surface

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
We study the connection between exceptional points (EPs) and optimal parameter estimation, in a simple system consisting of two counterpropagating traveling wave modes in a microring resonator.

Location Awareness in 5G Networks Using RSS Measurements for Public Safety Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
One of the notable aspects of public safety applications in 5G networks is location awareness, which is a feature of contemporary technology that imparts details about a user`s geographical location to another user or application. Mobile users take their

Joint Covariance Estimation with Mutual Linear Structure

open access: yes, 2015
We consider the problem of joint estimation of structured covariance matrices. Assuming the structure is unknown, estimation is achieved using heterogeneous training sets.

Wavefront Selective Modal Excitations for Optimally Informative Sensing in Fano‐Resonant Metasurfaces

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
Structured illuminations can unlock hidden quasi‐BIC modes in Fano‐resonant metasurfaces, enhancing the sensitivity to nanoscale perturbations. By analyzing the eigenmode spectrum of a dielectric metasurface and applying information theory, tailored wavefronts can be engineered that selectively excite otherwise inaccessible modes.

Isocitrate Dehydrogenase Mutations in Cancer: From Bench to Bedside Applications

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
Mutant isocitrate dehydrogenase affects multiple cancer types. Alterations in IDH1 and IDH2 result in abnormal enzyme activity, leading to the overproduction of D‐2‐hydroxyglutarate (D‐2HG). This metabolite disrupts cellular metabolism and epigenetic regulation, driving cancer initiation, progression, and metastasis.
