Fisioterapia após substituição artroscópica do ligamento cruzado cranial em cães: I - avaliação clínica, radiográfica e ultrassonográfica Physiotherapy after arthroscopic repair of the cranial cruciate ligament in dogs: I - clinical, radiographic, and ultrasonographic evaluation

Unexpected intraoperative hypoxaemia in a healthy dog undergoing TPLO

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract A period of hypoxaemia was unexpectedly detected in an otherwise healthy 10‐year‐old dog undergoing tibial plateau levelling osteotomy surgery. Hypoxaemia developed approximately 10 minutes after the start of surgery. Simultaneously, the plane of anaesthesia was persistently light. Lung compliance was subjectively poor.

Expression stability of commonly used reference genes in canine articular connective tissues

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research, 2007
Background The quantification of gene expression in tissue samples requires the use of reference genes to normalise transcript numbers between different samples.

Novel prosthetic medial meniscus restores contact pressures to native values in a meniscectomized canine stifle

open access: yesVeterinary Surgery, Volume 55, Issue 2, Page 335-344, February 2026.
Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to ascertain whether a prosthetic meniscus adapts pressures to native tibial contact pressures in a canine stifle joint after total medial meniscectomy. Study design Ex vivo biomechanical experimental study. Sample population Seven cadaveric hindlimbs of seven large‐breed dogs.

Analysis of copy number variation in dogs implicates genomic structural variation in the development of anterior cruciate ligament rupture.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture is an important condition of the human knee. Second ruptures are common and societal costs are substantial. Canine cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) rupture closely models the human disease. CCL rupture is common in

Inflammatory pattern of the infrapatellar fat pad in dogs with canine cruciate ligament disease

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research, 2018
Background Despite the importance of inflammation during the pathogenesis of cranial cruciate ligament disease (CCLD) in dogs and despite the latest knowledge suggesting a significant role of adipose tissue in osteoarthritis, the infrapatellar fat pad ...

Imputation of canine genotype array data using 365 whole-genome sequences improves power of genome-wide association studies.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2019
Genomic resources for the domestic dog have improved with the widespread adoption of a 173k SNP array platform and updated reference genome. SNP arrays of this density are sufficient for detecting genetic associations within breeds but are underpowered ...
