Effect of anticholinergic eye drops on intraorbital, periorbital and brain pulsation power

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The study aims to investigate the effect of pharmacologically reducing parasympathetic activity on ocular and cerebral pulsations, inspired by recent discoveries of a glymphatic‐like system in the eye driven by physiological pulsations.

Cryptococcal meningitis due to Cryptococcus neoformans VNI in a koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) with progressive neurological disease

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Nearly all cases of cryptococcosis in koalas are caused by Cryptococcus gattii species complex. A rare case of meningitis due to Cryptococcus neoformans VNI/AFLP1 (abbreviated VNI) is described in a koala with nasal colonisation by both species complexes.

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Induces Cognitive Recovery in Alzheimer's Disease via GABAergic Neuron Activation of the Cx3cl1‐Cx3cr1 Axis

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Schematic diagram illustrating the molecular mechanisms of the Cx3cl1‐Cx3cr1 axis mediated by rTMS activation of GABAergic neurons in the process of cognitive function recovery in AD. ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate the impact of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on cognitive recovery in Alzheimer's disease (AD) by exploring ...

Unusual Morphologic Presentation of Perineural Spread From Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma: Diagnosis Aided by Comprehensive Molecular Analysis and Machine Learning

open access: yesJournal of Cutaneous Pathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neoplasms of unknown primary frequently pose a diagnostic challenge due to their nonspecific morphological and immunohistochemical features. Definitive classification of these neoplasms has a profound impact on treatment decisions. Mutational and gene expression profiling can provide diagnostic and prognostic information in these challenging ...
