The Dimensional Revolution of Phosphorus: From Allotropicity to Battery System Applications

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 5, September 2026.
Phosphorus‐based materials are promising high‐capacity anodes classified by dimension (0D–3D) to systematically explore their properties and composite strategies. When combined with materials such as carbon to form heterostructures, the electrical conductivity and stability are effectively enhanced.

The Kia Tīmata Pai Randomized Controlled Trial: ENRICH Early Childhood Teacher Training Improves Toddlers’ Oral Language and Self‐Regulation

open access: yesDevelopmental Science, Volume 29, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Children's oral language and self‐regulation skills are critical for healthy development and life trajectories. ENRICH is a preventive intervention developed for early childhood teachers to enhance these skills in toddlers. Kia Tīmata Pai (Best Start study) is a longitudinal cluster randomized controlled trial in 136 New Zealand early ...

Moonlight Duration and Intensity Favour Nocturnal Activity in a Diurnal Desert Bird

open access: yesEthology, Volume 132, Issue 9, Page 629-641, September 2026.
Accelerometer data show that Canarian houbara bustards increase nocturnal activity two‐ to fivefold when the moon is visible, with activity rising as moonlit duration and illumination increase. Both display and non‐display behaviours peaked around full moon, reaching up to half of peak daytime levels, with males increasing visual displays during ...

Antipredatory Strategies of Anurans: An Updated Conceptual Review

open access: yesEthology, Volume 132, Issue 9, Page 662-708, September 2026.
To unravel the evolutionary dynamics of predator–prey interactions, we propose an updated, three‐tiered classification of anuran antipredatory strategies. By mapping non‐behavioral, individual, and group defenses across five functional phases, this integrative framework introduces the concept of synergetic coupling.

Elevation shapes alpine snow algal blooms and their influence on albedo reduction

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 5, Page 2482-2496, September 2026.
Graphical summary of elevational trends in Sanguina‐dominated snow algal blooms. Increasing elevation was associated with larger cells, lower Chla content per cell, higher astaxanthin ratios, lower snow water content, and reduced cell‐normalized albedo, whereas algal cell density showed no consistent elevational trend.

An All‐Textile, Mechano‐Capacitive Subtle Movement Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 63, 6 August 2026.
A robust all‐textile capacitive sensor is introduced for measuring subtle body movements without long‐term degradation. By separating mechanical deformation from electrical sensing elements, accuracy, responsiveness, and durability are improved. Simple fabrication methods are presented, electrode effects are analyzed, and performance is validated ...
