Crank-Nicolson finite element methods using symmetric stabilization with an application to optimal control problems subject to transient advection - diffusion equations

open access: yes, 2011
We consider a finite element method with symmetric stabilization for transient advection-diffusion-reaction problems. The Crank-Nicolson finite difference scheme is used for discretization in time.

Pathways for FEW nexus collaboration in U.S. city resilience planning

open access: yesEcology and Society
The food-energy-water (FEW) nexus has been argued as an approach to improve system resilience and sustainability theoretically. However, there is limited empirical understanding of which governance factors lead to FEW nexus collaboration in practice. The

Laser‐Assisted Phase Engineering of 2D MoS2 for Efficient Solution‐Processed Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Here, local laser‐assisted phase transition from solution‐processed phase‐pure 1T′ to 2H MoS2 is shown to critically depend on the irradiation atmosphere. While processing in air leads to damaged insulating regions, inert conditions yield semiconducting 2H domains, enabling direct field‐effect transistor patterning with optimized lateral 1T′‐2H MoS2 ...

曲柄群驱动机构曲柄单元的动平衡研究

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2014
A new type of transmission mechanism——crank-group driving mechanism is introduced.Taking into account the vibration problems of the mechanism in the process of high speed, and combining with the movement distribution form of crank-group mechanism, and ...

Programmable 3D Photovoltaics via Mechanically Origami‐Coded Interlocked 3D Kirigami and Nano‐Root Anchored AgNWs–In–Ga Multiphasic Alloy Conductor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanically origami‐coded 3D kirigami photovoltaics convert a single extension–release cycle into deterministic self‐folding, reconfiguring planar solar cells into programmable 3D modules. Distinct coding strategies enable either ultrahigh stretchability (500% system strain) or ultrahigh initial effective areal coverage (225%).

From Crank to Congruences

open access: yesMediterranean Journal of Mathematics
Abstract In this paper, we investigate the arithmetic properties of the difference between the number of partitions of a positive integer n with even crank and those with odd crank, denoted $$C(n) = c_e(n) -
