AbstractCrapemyrtle bark scale (CMBS; Acanthococcus lagerstroemiae), an invasive sap-sucking hemipteran, has spread across 16 U.S. states. Infestation of CMBS negatively impacts the flowering of crapemyrtles and reduces the aesthetic quality of ornamental plants.
