Chronology of the Basalt Units Surrounding Chang’e-4 Landing Area
The Chang’e-4 (CE-4) lunar probe, the first soft landing spacecraft on the far side of the Moon, successfully landed in the Von Kármán crater on 3 January 2019. Geological studies of the landing area have been conducted and more intensive studies will be

Processes culminating in the 2015 phreatic explosion at Lascar volcano, Chile, evidenced by multiparametric data [PDF]
Small steam-driven volcanic explosions are common at volcanoes worldwide but are rarely documented or monitored; therefore, these events still put residents and tourists at risk every year.

On the importance of self-secondaries
Self-secondaries are secondary craters that are formed on both the continuous ejecta deposits and interior of the parent crater. The possible existence of self-secondaries was proposed in the late 1960s, but their identity, formation mechanism, and ...

Modeling the Chronologies and Size Distributions of Ceres and Vesta Craters [PDF]
Abstract We infer the crater chronologies of Ceres and Vesta from a self-consistent dynamical model of asteroid impactors. The model accounts for planetary migration/instability early in the history of our solar system and tracks asteroid orbits over 4.56 Gyr. It is calibrated on the current population of the asteroid belt.

The Geological History of the Chang’e-5 Sample Return Region
Chang’e-5 (CE-5), China’s first sample-return mission, has successfully landed in Oceanus Procellarum near Mons Rümker. It is important to have a detailed study of the geological evolution of the CE-5 sample return region.

NanoSIMS and EPMA dating of lunar zirconolite
Zirconolite is a common Zr-rich accessary mineral in mafic rocks. It is also an ideal U–Pb/Pb–Pb chronometer because it commonly contains high U content (mostly 0.1–10 wt%) and negligible initial Pb.
