Combined Effects of Thermal Cycling Aging and Reinforcement Content on the Ball‐On‐Disk Wear of Additively Manufactured Polylactic Acid Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Thermal Aging and Tribological Tests of Additive Manufactured PLA Composites. ABSTRACT This study focuses on the additive manufacturing of pure polylactic acid (PLA) specimens and milled glass fiber (GF)‐filled PLA composites under thermal cycling aging and wear tests. Wear tracks have been analyzed via 3D optical profiling and SEM imaging.

Erosion Resistance Enhancement in Epoxy Composites by Recycled Rubber: Effect of Rubber Type

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
Erosion resistance enhancement in epoxy composites by recycled rubber. ABSTRACT Epoxy‐based materials have low erosion resistance due to their brittle nature, and toughness modification stands out for enhancing it. At this stage, the use of waste rubber as a reinforcement component in the composite system is of interest due to its role in providing ...

The First Electrochemical Cycle: State‐of‐Charge Dependent Formation and Evolution of the Solid Electrolyte Interphase on Hard Carbon Anodes in Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
The formation and evolution of the solid electrolyte interphase on hard carbon electrodes is tracked at defined states of charge during the first galvanostatic cycle in sodium half‐cells. Combining SEM/EDS, XPS, ToF‐SIMS, SECM, and c‐AFM reveals how the SEI's morphology, chemistry, and interfacial reactivity develop during sodiation and partially ...

Tailoring Laser Powder Bed Fusion and Post‐Processing Parameters for JIS SKD61 Tool Steels: Surface Roughness, Microstructure, and Mechanical Properties

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Laser powder bed fusion of JIS SKD61 tool steel is systematically optimized using a Taguchi design and ANOVA. Hatch spacing and layer thickness are identified as dominant parameters controlling surface roughness and tensile strength. Subsequent tempering at 600°C improves microstructural stability and mechanical performance, enabling high‐density SKD61

Story2Board: A Training‐Free Approach for Expressive Visual Storytelling

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We present Story2Board, a training‐free framework for expressive storyboard generation from natural language. Existing methods narrowly focus on subject identity, overlooking key aspects of visual storytelling such as spatial composition, background evolution, and narrative pacing.
