Olindanymphes? headsi sp. nov. (Neuroptera: Nymphidae) is described from the late Aptian (Lower Cretaceous) Crato Formation of Brazil. Its hindwing is unique in the family by the presence of the few-pectinate both CuA and CuP, each with two to three branches.

Discovery of a juvenile coelacanth in the Lower Cretaceous, Crato Formation, Northeastern Brazil
1999An almost complete specimen of a juvenile coelacanth, measuring 70 mm total length, from the Aptian age Nova Olinda Member of the Crato Formation (Araripe Basin, Brazil), is here recorded and referred to the genus Axelrodichthys. This is the first record of a Coelacanthidae in this Cretaceous geological formation.

Palaeontology, 2007Abstract: Several new specimens of Protoischnurus axelrodorum Carvalho and Lourenço and Araripescorpius ligabuei Campos from the Crato Formation, Brazil, are described. The preservation and recognition of new morphological features allows a re‐diagnosis of both species and a modification of their familial placement.

A new crocodilian from the Lower Cretaceous Crato Formation of north-eastern Brazil
Palaeontographica Abteilung A, 2003A new mesosuchian crocoddian from the Nova Olinda Member of the Crato Formation (Lower Cretaceous, Aptian) of north-eastern Brazil is described. Susisuchus anatoceps gen. et sp. nov. is the first crocodillan to be reported from this formation.

Cretaceous Research, 2015Abstract Cratosmylus magnificus gen. et sp. nov., type genus and species of the new osmylid subfamily Cratosmylinae, is described from the Lower Cretaceous of the Crato Formation, Brazil. The relationships of this taxon remain uncertain within the Osmylidae, mainly due to the lack of phylogeny of the whole family.
