A new scoliid wasp in the Early Cretaceous Crato Formation in Brazil (Hymenoptera: Scoliidae)

Zootaxa, 2013
The new genus and species of scoliid wasp Araripescolia magnifica Nel, Escuillie & Garrouste, gen. et sp. nov. is described from the Early Cretaceous Crato formation in Brazil. It seems to be more closely related to the modern Campsomerinae than to the other Cretaceous Scoliidae: Archaeoscoliinae and Proscoliinae.

HIGHER SYSTEMATICS OF SCORPIONS FROM THE CRATO FORMATION, LOWER CRETACEOUS OF BRAZIL

Palaeontology, 2007
Abstract:  Several new specimens of Protoischnurus axelrodorum Carvalho and Lourenço and Araripescorpius ligabuei Campos from the Crato Formation, Brazil, are described. The preservation and recognition of new morphological features allows a re‐diagnosis of both species and a modification of their familial placement.

A new Osmylidae (Insecta, Neuroptera) from the Lower Cretaceous Crato Formation in Brazil

Cretaceous Research, 2015
Abstract Cratosmylus magnificus gen. et sp. nov., type genus and species of the new osmylid subfamily Cratosmylinae, is described from the Lower Cretaceous of the Crato Formation, Brazil. The relationships of this taxon remain uncertain within the Osmylidae, mainly due to the lack of phylogeny of the whole family.

Spores and pollen from the Crato Formation: biostratigraphic and palaeoenvironmental implications

2007
Well over 150 spore and pollen taxa have been recorded in the literature from the Crato Formation and other slightly older and younger formations in the Chapada do Araripe, but detailed information on stratigraphic occurrences and relative abundances is mostly lacking.
