Trace-element composition of pyrite and its implications for hydrothermal process within the Mesoproterozoic metasedimentary sequences of the São Francisco Craton, northeastern Brazil

open access: yesGeologia USP. Série Científica, 2022
The distribution of trace elements in pyrite has been documented for the first time in quartz veins hosted in the Mesoproterozoic metasedimentary sequence of the Tombador Formation, São Francisco Craton, northeast Brazil.

Detrital zircon records of the Paleo-Mesoproterozoic rift-sag Tamanduá Group in its type-section, Northern Quadrilátero Ferrífero, Minas Gerais, Brazil

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Geology, 2020
The Quadrilátero Ferrífero metallogenetic province is located in the southernmost portion of the São Francisco craton, SE Brazil. The Tamanduá and Cambotas ridges stand out topographically in the northeastern portion of Quadrilátero Ferrífero and show NE-

Geological and structural markers of the eastern Borborema Province based on a geotransect covering the Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas and Sergipe states, northeastern Brazil

open access: yesJournal of the Geological Survey of Brazil, 2020
This study comprises a field investigation of a NE-SW geological transect along the Eastern Borborema Province in NE Brazil. The transect covered distinct geological domains that differ in a number of aspects, being bounded by shear zones.

Contribution to the study of the Paleo and Mesoproterozoic magmatism of the SW Amazonian craton based on stable isotopes of O, H and S [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Os isótopos estáveis de O, H e S foram utilizados para investigar a origem das rochas magmáticas nos Terrenos Jauru e Pontes e Lacerda do SW do Craton Amazônico, estado de Mato Grosso, Brasil.

Does the Cave Environment Limit Functional Diversity? Rethinking Patterns in Oniscidea Assemblages From a Neotropical Karst

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Cave habitats strongly filter functional traits, constraining the diversity of terrestrial isopod communities along the epigean–hypogean gradient. Functional turnover decreases while richness differences increase in hypogean systems, reflecting uneven occupation of trait space rather than simple trait replacement.

Tectonic Framework of the Arenópolis and Anicuns‐Itaberaí Segments of the Goiás Magmatic Arc Based on 3D Magnetotelluric Inversion

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract The Goiás Magmatic Arc (GMA) is a Neoproterozoic juvenile terrain formed through oceanic‐oceanic and oceanic‐continental subduction. It comprises three main segments: Mara Rosa, Anicuns‐Itaberaí (GMAAI), and Arenópolis (GMAA), whose tectonic evolution and connectivity remain uncertain.

Exotic accessory minerals in layered chromitites of the Campo Formoso complex (Brazil) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The Campo Formoso stratiform intrusive complex, in Bahia State, Brazil, considered to be of Paleoproterozoic age, consists of a tabular body of ultramafic rocks about 40 km long and 100-1100 m wide.

Confronting Episodic vs. Continuous Heat Sources in Long‐Lived Hot Orogens: Insights From Petrochronological Studies in the Nova Venecia Complex, Araçuaí Orogen (SE Brazil)

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, Volume 43, Issue 9, Page 863-890, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Orogenic belts that sustain elevated temperatures at intermediate crustal depths for tens of millions of years are known as hot orogens. The evolution of these hot orogens is largely influenced by thermal maturation, primarily driven by the distribution of heat‐producing elements (HPEs), such as K, Th and U in the overthickened crust.

The development of magmatism along the Cameroon Volcanic Line: evidence from seismicity and seismic anisotropy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The Cameroon Volcanic Line (CVL) straddles the continent-ocean boundary in West Africa but exhibits no clear age progression. This renders it difficult to explain by traditional plume/plate motion hypotheses; thus, there remains no consensus on the ...

Machine Learning Model for Assessing Melting Pressure Conditions of the TTG Genesis: Implications for the Timing of the Onset of Global Plate Tectonics

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Understanding the pressure conditions of the formation of tonalite‐trondhjemite‐granodiorite (TTG) series rocks is important, as these rocks are key constituents of the Archean continental crust. However, the detailed pressure history of Archean TTG gneisses remains ambiguous due to uncertainties surrounding their sources and the effects of ...
