Obesity Prevalence in DDX3X‐Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to analyze the prevalence of obesity in those affected by DDX3X‐related neurodevelopmental disorder (DDX3X‐NDD). Initial descriptions suggested that individuals with DDX3X‐NDD suffered from poor weight gain or failure to thrive in early childhood, likely in the setting of feeding difficulties and secondary to ...

Trauma‐Informed Practice in Welfare‐to‐Work and Employment Services: A Scoping Review

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT There is increasing recognition within welfare services, including employment services, that many participants may have histories of trauma. Research suggests that experiences of trauma not only impact individuals' psychosocial health but also vocational elements such as job performance, employability, career progression, and financial ...

Supramolecular Chalcogen‐Bonded Shape Memory Actuators

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Supramolecular liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) incorporating chalcogen bonds (ChBs) have been synthesized and investigated for shape memory and actuation properties. LCEs featuring strong Se∙∙∙N ChBs (–40 to –43 kJ/mol) exhibit both shape memory effects (SME) and reversible actuation, while those with weaker S∙∙∙N ChBs (–32 to –34 kJ/mol) do not.

A Comparative Study on Friction Performance and Mechanical Properties of Printed PETG Materials With Different Patterns

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Investigating the mechanical and wear properties of widely used PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol) filaments is important to understanding the material's performance, reliability, and suitability in different application areas. This study performed tensile and wear tests on PETG samples produced with a 3D printer using four infill ...

Exploring Process‐Structure–Property Relationships of PEKK and PEEK in Fused Filament Fabrication

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Exploring the process‐structure‐property relationships of PEKK and PEEK in FFF. ABSTRACT High‐performance polymers (HPP) have gained significant attention in recent years because of their potential for metal replacement in industries with demanding environments, such as aerospace, where high‐strength lightweight parts are essential.

Exploring developmental changes in femoral midneck cross‐sectional properties

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
The properties of femoral midneck cross‐sections exhibit a unique growth pattern that is characterized by shape changes during adolescence. Abstract This research delves deeper into previous works on femoral cross‐sectional properties during ontogeny by focusing for the first time on the human femoral midneck. The ontogenetic pattern of cross‐sectional
