There is increasing evidence that mammalian cells not only crawl on substrates but can also swim in fluids. To elucidate the mechanisms of the onset of motility of cells in suspension, a model which couples actin and myosin kinetics to fluid flow is proposed and solved for a spherical shape.

Experimental Study of Military Crawl as a Special Type of Human Quadripedal Automatic Locomotion
The biomechanics of military crawl locomotion is poorly covered in scientific literature so far. Crawl locomotion may be used as a testing procedure which allows for the detection of not only obvious, but also hidden locomotor dysfunctions.

Intravascular Crawling of Patrolling Monocytes: A Lèvy-Like Motility for Unique Search Functions?
Patrolling monocytes (PMo) are the organism’s preeminent intravascular guardians by their continuous search of damaged endothelial cells and harmful microparticles for their removal and to restore homeostasis.

Early Motor Milestones in Infancy and Later Motor Impairments: A Population-Based Data Linkage Study
BackgroundDevelopmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) is a neurodevelopmental condition with high prevalence. Early motor milestones are important markers to identify DCD. The current study aims to evaluate the association between the onset of crawling and

Dispersal Behavior Characters of Spodoptera frugiperda Larvae
The fall armyworm (FAW), Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), is a major pest of corn worldwide. FAW larval dispersal is an important life strategy that influences FAW population distribution in corn fields and subsequent plant ...

Energy Considerations in a Model of Nematode Sperm Crawling
In this paper we propose a mathematical model for nematode spermcell crawling. The model takes into account both force and energybalance in the process of lamellipodium protrusion and cellnucleus drag. It is shown that by specifying the (possiblyvariable)
