Electron microscopy study confirms infection of coconut rhinoceros beetle (CRB-G) gut cells by OrNV V23B [PDF]
Electron microscopy revealed typical signs of disease and multiplication of virions in gut tissue from Oryctes rhinoceros (CRB-G) adults after treatment in the laboratory with OrNV strain V23B.

This paper histologically analyzed incremental markings in dental enamel of red fox and grey wolf. Our results demonstrate that previous studies have misidentified these markings, which led to miscalculation of dental growth parameters. Abstract The present study analyzed incremental markings in the enamel of eight mandibular first molars (M1) of red ...

Diverse functions and pathogenetic role of Crumbs in retinopathy
The Crumbs protein (CRB) family plays a crucial role in maintaining the apical–basal polarity and integrity of embryonic epithelia. The family comprises different isoforms in different animals and possesses diverse structural, localization, and ...

New World vultures are the only avian clade proposed to lack a syrinx and have been described as non‐vocal. Using dissection, diceCT, and histology, we demonstrate that cathartid vultures have novel syringeal features that form a syrinx and vocal characterization reveals that they produce more complex vocalizations than previously reported.

Simulations All the Way Up! An Atheist's Response to the Fine‐Tuning Argument
ABSTRACT So the Fine‐tuning Argument goes, because it is so unlikely for the physical constants of the laws of nature to have taken the values that they in fact take, we should significantly raise our credence that God exists. Simulation Arguments argue that our world might be (or, in stronger versions, that it probably is) a mere computer simulation ...

The left panel reports the measured time course data of melatonin concentration in the blood plasma of 17 BL‐Rs and 15 BL‐NRs at baseline, during a two‐hour stay in the dark, during a one‐hour light exposure to blue light, and again in the dark. The right panel shows the magnitude of melatonin concentration after 60 min of exposure to warm white, cool ...

The effect of photodynamic therapy in head and neck cancer: A comprehensive review of in vivo models
This review evaluates Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) in in vivo head and neck cancer models. PDT effectively generates ROS, reducing tumor growth, cell proliferation and angiogenesis while enhancing survival and immune responses. However, methodological heterogeneity highlights the urgent need for standardized dosimetric protocols to ensure reproducibility
