Impact of Seasonal Composition on the Long‐Term Performance of Post‐Consumer Recycled Polypropylene

Ten batches of post‐consumer polypropylene recyclate were examined over a period of 15 months. Despite identical MFR and density specifications, there were significant differences in their composition, affecting mechanical performance. Elongation at break and crack resistance varied particularly strongly.

Abstract Optimal biomass use in a circular bioeconomy requires a system perspective to guide decision‐making. The Optimizing Biomass Use (OptiBiU) model was developed for this purpose. The model distinguishes among primary biomass production, intermediate products, and biobased products, and incorporates recycling.
