Entre los meses de enero y diciembre de 1981 se atendió en el Servicio de Prematuros del Hospital Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins 184 recién nacidos con retardo de crecimiento (peso por debajo del percentil 10 para su edad gestacional).
