Abstract Near‐earth orbits are becoming congested because of a rapid growth in the number of satellites and space debris, which presents a real threat to the sustainable use of space and the safety of the Earth. Despite space scientists and public policymakers having been actively seeking solutions for decades, solving the problem has been put off ...

This work demonstrates the control of teleconnections on seasonal tree growth through local climate across the Mediterranean basin. Despite the constant link between the East Atlantic Pattern and temperature, synergies among teleconnections point to an east–west dipole in tree seasonal growth, driven by precipitation variability.

Unraveling water pathways and sources in leafless maples during early spring sap ascent
Summary Maple trees repair cold‐induced embolism by generating positive stem pressure during their leafless state, altering sap transport in ways that remain poorly understood. This xylem pressure also drives sap exudation, enabling maple sap harvest for syrup production.

Intraspecific variation in plant–fungal interactions across tidal elevation in a salt marsh
Summary Interspecific interactions vary depending on environmental and genetic factors, with intraspecific variation potentially altering these relationships. Specifically, intraspecific variation within host plants and their endosymbionts may affect above‐ and belowground interactions depending on environmental conditions.

Summary Climate warming stimulates growth and reproduction in cold‐adapted plants but also leads to extreme weather events that may hinder their performance. We examined these predictions in the cold‐arid Himalayan subnival zone at 5900 m, where unprecedented warming and extreme snowfalls occurred over the past three decades.
