The Inferential Complexity of Bayesian and Credal Networks.

open access: yes, 2005
This paper presents new results on the complexity of graph-theoretical models that represent probabilities (Bayesian networks) and that represent interval and set valued probabilities (credal networks). We define a new class of networks with bounded width, and introduce a new decision problem for Bayesian networks, the maximin a posteriori.

Generalized loopy 2U: A new algorithm for approximate inference in credal networks [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Approximate Reasoning, 2010
Credal networks generalize Bayesian networks by relaxing the requirement of precision of probabilities. Credal networks are considerably more expressive than Bayesian networks, but this makes belief updating NP-hard even on polytrees.

Approximate Inference in Logical Credal Networks

Proceedings of the Thirty-Second International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2023
The Logical Credal Network or LCN is a recent probabilistic logic designed for effective aggregation and reasoning over multiple sources of imprecise knowledge. An LCN specifies a set of probability distributions over all interpretations of a set of logical formulas for which marginal and conditional probability bounds on their truth values are known ...

Credal and Bayesian Networks

2010
We have seen that in many cases it suffices to restrict attention to convex sets of probability functions, and even, in the case of objective Bayesianism, often a single probability function. This restriction will be important in what follows, since it will allow us to exploit the computational machinery of probabilistic networks—in particular credal ...

Application of credal network on evaluating emergency capacity

Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Electronic & Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology, 2011
By analyzing existing evaluation method of emergency capacity, the paper pointed out the inadequacy of existing methods and gave an evaluating model on emergency capacity based on Credal Network. It better expressed the uncertainty and complexity of the system by interval probability, and taked inference and diagnosis on the system. In the end, it gave
