Creep-Fatigue Crack Growth

1987
In this chapter, the technologically important subject of fatigue at high temperatures is taken up again. In Chapter 18, fatigue failure due to more or less homogeneous cavitation of grain boundaries in the whole specimen was discussed, whereas now failure by the growth of cracks under cyclic-loading conditions will be investigated.

Mechanisms of Creep-Fatigue Interactions

1989
In this part an attempt is made (i) to show how intergranular fracture can be used to rationalise a number of observations related to high temperature fatigue behavior of metals and alloys and (ii) to analyse various forms of microstructural intergranular damage.

Creep-Fatigue-Effects in Composites

1983
The fatigue behavior at elevated temperatures, mostly in vacuum, of several cobalt and nickel-base eutectic composites is described. Decreased fatigue life and increased crack propagation rates are noted as test frequency is reduced. A shift from surface to internal crack initiation occurs at low frequencies and high test temperatures.
