Creep Feeding Nursing Beef Calves

Veterinary Clinics of North America: Food Animal Practice, 2007
Creep feeding can be used to increase calf weaning weights. However, the gain efficiency of free-choice, energy-based creep feeds is relatively poor. Generally, limit-feeding, high-protein creep feeds are more efficient, and gains may be similar to those produced by creep feeds offered free choice. Creep feeding can increase total organic matter intake

On the kinematics of creep feed grinding

Journal of Machinery Manufacture and Reliability, 2007
We consider kinematic dependences of creep feed grinding. We give an analytical model of this process and formulas that relate the area of a nominal section removed during one turn of the grinding disk and the arc length of the contact during grinding stages.

PSVI-22 Effect of Creep-Feeding on Feeding Behavior of Nellore Calves

Journal of Animal Science, 2023
Abstract The study aimed to evaluate the effect of creep-feeding on feeding behavior of beef calves, during nursing phase. The experiment lasted 170 days; from December/2021 to May/2022, the calves were born in September/2021 and creep-feeding supplementation started from approximately 70 days of life until weaning.

Creep Feed Grinding Of Advanced Ceramics

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 1992
Experimental investigation of creep feed grinding of ceramics and their advanced composites is described. Among silicon carbide, zirconia, alumina and silicon nitride, the latter was found to be the most difficult to grind ceramic. Fibre-reinforced silicon nitride was ground in three directions to the fibre.

The role of cooling in creep feed grinding

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 1990
This paper concerns the thermal aspects of creep feed grinding, as contrasted to conventional grinding. The importance of adequate cooling in creep feed grinding is well known. Without cooling, the grinding temperature in creep feed grinding would be higher than in conventional grinding.

On the study of creep feed grinding of alumina

International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, 1994
Abstract Several issues involved in creep feed grinding of alumina with diamond wheels were studied. Influences of variables on responses were investigated. Off-line optimization was performed by formulating the grinding process as a multi-objective nonlinear mixed integer problem. The dominant mechanism of material removal was determined.

Pulse Dressing in Creep Feed Grinding

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 1989
Machining of the roots and shrouds of turbine blades is normally performed by continuous dress creep feed grinding. In this process, the grinding wheel is continuously dressed during the grinding operation, maintaining constant grinding forces and form accuracy. However, continuous-dressing has incurred higher wheel usage.

Creep-Feed Grinding

1986
Creep-feed grinding was developed in Europe in the late 1950s; since then it has been used in an ever-increasing number of applications, particularly in the aerospace industry. Creep-feed grinding in the United States, however, did not enjoy the same success initially, as it appeared that the process was employed using incorrect grinding wheel grades ...

Optimization of the creep-feed grinding process†

International Journal of Production Research, 1988
This article presents the procedure of optimization of the creep-feed grinding process and gives results of testing and optimizing the grinding of Nimonic 80 A material. The tests have determined the relations of grinding forces in relation to grinding conditions applicable to various methods of dressing the cutting surface of a high-porosity grinding ...
