Abstract The introduction of recovery into the logarithmic (exhaustion) creep model leads to a form of creep curve which accords with the experimental observations. In particular, an approximately cubic transient creep, followed by a steady state creep, are both exhibited.

Modelling of Steel Creep at High Temperatures Using an Implicit Creep Model
Key Engineering Materials, 2013The paper presents the numerical procedure for modelling the behaviour of steel structures at high temperatures using a newly developed implicit creep model. This implicit creep model uses the calculated creep strains to modify the material stress-strain curves, thus implicitly taking into account the effect of the developed creep strain.

In this paper, the creep behavior of an epoxy-based adhesive reinforced with different weight fractions of graphene up to 0.5 wt% was studied. Creep tests were performed in three stress levels, using the ultimate strength of the neat epoxy as a reference.

Mechanism Based Creep Model Incorporating Damage
Journal of Engineering Materials and Technology, 2010The increasing demand of reliable creep design for very long lives (exceeding 100.000 h), as those for high stress-low temperatures and high temperature-low stress regimes, requires a model formulation capable to account for the nonlinearity in the stress dependence of the logarithm of the creep rate as a result of the combination of both diffusional ...

An improved unsteady creep model based on the time dependent mechanical parameters
, 2020In order to study the obvious rheological properties of the surrounding rock during the mining process of Fuxin Hengda Coal Mine, the creep test under different confining pressures was carried out by using the MTS812.02 test machine.

Compression Creep Characteristics and Creep Model Establishment of Gangue
Geotechnical and Geological Engineering, 2016How to describe the compression creep behavior of gangue is very essential for the design of gangue backfilling mining. In this paper, compression tests of two kinds of gangue are studied, finding that logarithmic function is suitable for describing its equal-time stress–strain relationship. Stress–strain–time relationship is proposed through modifying

AbstractA model of creep in solids is developed in which flow units, identified with dislocation segments in crystals, overcome energy barriers u1 ≦ u ≦ u2 with the aid of thermal activation. Each successful transition of a unit increases or decreases the barrier for the subsequent jump by a stress‐dependent increment.

Abstract This article, to develop an understanding of the underlying mechanisms governing deformation at elevated temperatures, discusses the phenomenological effects resulting from temperature-induced thermodynamic and kinetic changes. It describes the deformation behavior of engineering materials using expressions known as constitutive

Investigation of a fractional derivative creep model of clay and its numerical implementation
, 2020The fractional calculus has been successfully applied to characterize the rheological property of elastic viscoplastic materials. However, soils were seldom involved in fractional derivative constitutive models, and the topic of triaxial creep tests is ...
