Influence of geometry on creep and moisture movement of clay, calcium silicate and concrete masonry [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
This investigation involved creep and moisture movement measurements for about six months on 13-course clay (Engineering class B) and calcium silicate brickwork, and 5-course concrete blockwork, consecutively.

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Evaluation of concrete linear creep in determination of stress state and steel prestress losses in concrete members/Betono tiesinio valkšnumo įvertinimas, nustatant gelžbetoninių elementų įtempimų būvį ir armatūros išankstinio įtempimo nuostolius

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 1999
Determination of stress-strain state imposed by concrete linear creep and specification of steel prestress losses in linear prestressed concrete member is discussed in this article.

GFRP reinforced concrete : environmental and movement characteristics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
For the last few decades, research has been conducted in order to come over the problem of corrosion in steel reinforced concrete. Consequently, methods such as cathodic protection, epoxy coatings, concrete additives, etc., have been tried ...

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Time-dependent losses in post-tensioned prestressed concrete [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
An investigation has been undertaken into the factors affecting the time-dependent deformations, prestress losses and deflections of Class 1 uncracked prestressed concrete beams.

Additive‐Manufactured, Multifunctional Bioreactor Technology for Dynamic Culture of 3D Bioprinted Tissue Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We introduce an additively manufactured bioreactor with a perfusion flow system and integrated temperature and pH sensors for skeletal muscle tissue biofabrication. The bioreactor's performance was evaluated by assessing the viability, spreading of the myoblast cells in a printed scaffold, and contraction of the isolated murine musculi interossei ...

The behaviour of reinforced concrete beams under cyclic temperature profiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
On a hot summer day, high levels of solar radiation are incident on concrete bridge decks, causing non-linear variations in temperature through the depths of the structures. The changes in temperature lead to axial expansion and curvature of decks.

Time-dependent brittle creep-relaxation failure in concrete

open access: yes, 2016
In real-world engineering applications, concrete is usually subjected to both creep and stress relaxation. Observations are necessary to understand this coupling process.

Dose‐Dependent Reprogramming of Chromatin Accessibility by SOX4 Drives the Transcriptional Response to Iron Overload

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that iron overload triggers widespread chromatin compaction and transcriptional repression in human granulosa cells, recapitulating features of endometriosis. The epigenetic reprogramming is orchestrated by a TFEB‐SOX4‐SWI/SNF axis, with SOX4 acting as a central, dosage‐sensitive regulator.
