The term crescentic glomerulonephritis (CrGN) refers to a diverse collection of disorders of widely different etiology and pathogenesis having in common the development of extensive proliferation of cells within Bowman's space (Couser, 1988; Glassock et al., 1995; Nachman et al., 1998; Pusey and Rees, 1998; Morgan et al., 2006; Lionaki, et al., 2007 ...

Immunopathogenesis of crescentic glomerulonephritis
Current Opinion in Nephrology and Hypertension, 1999Crescentic glomerulonephritis provides an important therapeutic challenge because of its rapidly progressive course and poor outcome. Studies in animal models have elucidated some of the pivotal pathogenetic mechanisms, and human studies increasingly support the clinical relevance of these animal data.

Membranous glomerulonephritis with crescents
International Urology and Nephrology, 2013The coexistence of membranous glomerulonephritis (MGN) and necrotizing and crescentic glomerulonephritis (NCGN) is an unusual finding in a renal biopsy except in lupus nephritis. Little is known about whether these lesions are causally related in any clinical setting. We reviewed the pathology, presentation, and clinical course of 13 non-lupus patients ...

Update on crescentic glomerulonephritis
Seminars in Immunopathology, 2014The recent years have seen a number of major progresses in the field of extracapillary glomerulonephritis. This entity is the final damage caused by unrelated immunological disorders such as immune complexes glomerular deposits or microvascular injury caused by proinflammatory cytokines, neutrophil extracellular traps (NET), and cell adhesion molecules

Idiopathic Crescentic Membranous Glomerulonephritis
American Journal of Kidney Diseases, 1986A case of idiopathic crescentic membranous glomerulonephritis is reported. In addition to the present case, eight cases of this type of glomerulonephritis reported in the literature are reviewed. This is an uncommon form of glomerulonephritis, seen in middle age and in both sexes.

Crescentic glomerulonephritis in children
Pediatric Nephrology, 1992Data on patients with crescentic glomerulonephritis (greater than 50% glomeruli with crescents), referred to the Hospital for Sick Children during the past 13 years, were reviewed. Thirty patients (13 male, 17 female) aged 3.7-15.7 years (mean 9.5) were evaluated.

Cryptococcosis associated with crescentic glomerulonephritis
Pediatric Nephrology, 2008Crescentic glomerulonephritis (CGN) is an uncommon form of renal injury in childhood. Whereas many infectious processes are known to be linked to CGN, fungal infections typically are not. This report describes an 11-year-old girl who presented with CGN, cutaneous anergy, and cryptococcal mediastinitis.

IDIOPATHIC MEMBRANOUS GLOMERULONEPHRITIS WITH CRESCENTS
Acta Pathologica Japonica, 1981Three cases with idiopathic membranous glomerulonephritis associated with crescent formation are reported. A 39‐year‐old woman showed rapidly progressive decline in renal function. Her renal histology disclosed early membranous changes with diffuse crescent formation.
